We would like to see improvements to Evergreen buckets, making them work similar to the way Google Docs and similar collaborative content sites work.
- The owner of a bucket should be able to explicitly share it with specific users or groups of users, with different roles: Jane is added as a manager of this bucket and can do whatever the original owned can do, and inherits if the original owner leaves; Fred is added as an editor of the bucket, and can add and remove things; Louise has view-only access.
- Buckets shared with a user should be visible in a Shared with Me dropdown list, no more trying to remember bucket numbers
- Users should be able to mark specific buckets, their own or shared ones, to make it easier to find them. This is like using stars in Gmail, Google Drive, etc., just a way to identify current projects or priority buckets within a long list. Users should be able to toggle between View Starred (or whatever) and View All.
- Users should be able to view a list of all their buckets, select some or all, and take an action on the selected buckets — shared them, delete them, transfer ownership to another user.
These changes should apply to all the bucket types: item, record and users. Since Hold Groups are based on user buckets, this would provide better staff access to them.
